Welcome to Sherwood Open Gardens 2026!

This is taking place on Saturday 13th June from 12 - 6pm

The cost is £5 cash per person at any participating garden, where you will be given a sticker for the whole garden trail. Children 12 and under are free. You will also be given a brochure with map of the gardens, which you can also see here by clicking on the Brochure/Map button above (or on the menu button if you're on a phone)

This is our fourth Sherwood Open Gardens, and we are once again looking forward to meeting visitors to our gardens. Some of them have been open on previous years, some are new, but all of them are interesting.

We are pleased to announce that the two charities which were nominated and voted for by this year's participating gardeners are Nottinghamshire Hospice and Juno Women's Aid.

If you click on the button above showing Gardens 2026 you can see details of the gardens, with photos (on the menu if on a phone)

MINIBUS INFORMATION

We are providing a free minibus service, which can be identified as Steve's Minibus. We have volunteers on board to help you if necessary. The minibus will leave from Woodthorpe Park Plant Nursery at 12.00, and approximately 1.30. 3.00 and 4.00. It will continue its circuit around the gardens until 6.00. This isn't a scheduled service and timings can only be approximate, so your patience will be appreciated. Although priority will be given to those who especially need it, the bus is available to anyone. Our volunteers will also alight at the gardens to let people know they're there.  Please ask the volunteers for any information you might need.

ARCHIVE FROM SHERWOOD OPEN GARDENS 2024

Update 11th July 2024

It is now almost 6 weeks since Sherwood Open Gardens, and the charities nominated and voted for by our garden hosts have received their donations.
We have had the pleasure of meeting them in person, to witness some of the valuable work they do. These are photos of those meetings, our gardeners Pamela Davies and Sue Tribe with the staff and volunteers of Salaam Shalom Community Kitchen, and Pamela Davies, Janet Lail, Pauline Mordue and Lindsey Lukehurst with Laura Bacon and volunteers from Keeping It Wild and Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.

£8,000! This is the sum we raised from Sherwood Open Gardens 2024 which took place on 1st June. This is an incredible sum, made up from people paying to go into the gardens, sales of refreshments and plants, stall holders fees and donations from individuals. With a little bit of rounding up from our own plant sales we are very pleased to be able to donate £4,000 to both of our local charities, Salaam Shalom Kitchen and Woodthorpe Meadows NWT.
We have many people to thank for supporting this event: Woodthorpe Park Plant Nursery, Community Transport for Nottingham and Chris Fickling Design. Also our sponsors, Emma Ball Ltd, The Winchester/Sherwood Business Centre, Sherwood Garden Consultancy, Newton's Accountants, Nottingham Garden Rooms, Nottingham Jewellery School, Absolute Picture Framing, Roots Natural Foods and Nottingham Ceramic School. On the day, Karen Mcleod for her music, and Mann Hans for his beautiful photography, also the artists and stall holders. Saving the most important for last, our garden hosts for all their hard work and you the public, for coming along, more than a thousand of your friendly smiling faces coming through our gates. Thank you all for helping to make it a lovely day
